A little bit about Nina Saputo Riggs
“The Pasta Girl”
Inspired by her grandmother Rosalina and mother Angela, Nina Saputo Riggs has been immersed in Italian and Sicilian culture from birth. From the family’s hometown of Balestrate, Sicily, the recipes Nina brings to the table are steeped in tradition and authenticity. She continues to visit various regions of Italy to discover the secrets of preparing this simple and delicious cuisine.
Nina is a Certified Culinary Professional with degrees from the Academy of Culinary Education and the Westlake Culinary Institute. She has worked with a number of award-winning chefs and cookbook authors including Wolfgang Puck, Thomas Keller, Giada De Laurentiis, Jacques Pe’pin, Curtis Stone, Barbara Fairchild, Diana Kennedy and Ming Tsai.
As a certified pastry chef she has also worked with top pastry professionals including Nick Malgieri, Nancy Silverton (co-founder of La Brea Bakery), Peter Reinhart, and Alice Medrich.
Nina was a culinary instructor at the “Let’s Get Cookin” cooking school in Westlake Village, CA, for several years and continues to share recipes and her culinary knowledge.
