About the Recipe
Apertitivo derives from the word apire, meaning to open. It refers to an early evening drink designed to open and stimulate your appetite in preparation for your meal. Typically enjoyed between work and dinner, it is accompanied by appetizers or snacks. For years, this spritz was exclusively served in Northern Italy as a pre-meal drink, often paired with a tazza (cup) of crispy potato chips. It has gained immense popularity throughout Italy, Europe, and in the United States.
Aperol is low in alcohol, making it an easy, light cocktail, especially on a hot summer afternoon. In Sicily, it is served with fresh mint leaves. By the way, serving it in an ice filled stemmed glass is essential! Cin-Cin!

Preparation
Fill a wine glass to the brim with ice.Â
Add Aperol and prosecco; top with a splash of club soda.
Stir until well chilled.
Garnish with an orange slice and a fresh mint leaf.
